EPW - Revel à Paris (Joseph, 1775-1789), gold and pearl quarter repeating verge fusee, dumb striking on block, 41mm, 18K OF original consular case with French hallmarks of Revel's active period, the borders set with large split-pearls front and back, the ET back center possibly enameled at one time, KWKS, WED, gold hands, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#514. Gross weight of assembled watch 39.9 dwt (62.0 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, good balance motion, good escapement function, plates show fine gilding, patchy cloudiness overall, little oxide on steel components; good repeat function, clear tapping sound; dial perfect; hands excellent but mismatched; original case shows little wear, few MFS, no dents or dings, lovely clean pearls with good nacre, ET detail lightly reduced; button latch good; bow & pendant original, some looseness to both; good domed glass crystal.
